1.Toyota
Toyota cars are made in Japan. This car brand is chosen to be the first most used car brands in Ghana because of its popular usage. Most public vehicles in Ghana about 20% of them comes from Toyota because of its affordability, reliability and quick repair. Not only the public usage which makes it the most used but also the private use. Toyota manufactures a whole variety of its cars for different purposes, and they come in a very unique style.
2.Hyundai
The one who hits number two (2) on the list is the Hyundai car brand. This company is located in Ulsan, South Korea, manufacturing different purpose of cars. This car brand holds 15% of Ghana's most used cars, because of its economical fuel consumption. Hyundai cars catches a lot of Ghanaians attention because of its sleek models and are very easy to drive on the road.
3.Nissan
Nissan turns out to be the third most used car brands in Ghana. Nissan is originated from Japan and they have most of their manufacturing sites across the world. Ghanaians love a strong and grippy car leading the Nissan to catch their attention. Nissan has 13% of the most used in Ghana. The most common to see Nissan cars in Ghana is the Nissan Navara, a very strong car for a lot of construction works in Ghana and also most farmers prefer the Nissan Navara because of its strength, grip and power to carry their important staff from their farm yard.
4.Mercedes-Benz
The German manufacturing company car, which is the Mercedez-Benz. Ghana has a lot Mercedes cars used for public transport. An example is the Mercedez-Benz sprinter. As the name Sprinter suggests, this car is really fast and can be used for long journeys. The Mercedes-Benz is also used 12% across the country Ghana. Most Ghanaians love beautiful cars with a sporty appearance, I for example a fun of sporty cars. Mercedes-Benz cars are very fast and have a higher top speed compared to the top three brands.
5.Chevrolet
Chevrolet as we know are made from Detroit in America based on my research. This car has a great impact in Ghana because drivers trust it a lot. Chevrolet has a variety of different models made under them. One of their most popular cars used in Ghana is the Chevrolet Aveo and the Camaro. The Aveo is mostly used by Taxi and Uber drivers. They hold a record of 10% most used car brands in Ghana finding them solid and strong when they hit the road.
6.Ford
Ford cars are very strong and fast, manufactured by Henry Ford from America. As I said earlier that Ghanaians love fast cars which makes the Ford number six on the line up. Ghanaians public transport services uses Ford vans a lot for their long journey transport especially the Ford Transit. And one most private Ford cars in Ghana is the beast itself which is the Ford Mustang.
7.BMW
Have you ever thought of the full meaning of the BMW? Most Ghanaians normally call it 'be my wife' funny right. The BMW has two meanings, the first is Bayerischer Motormen Werke and the second is Bavarian Motor Works according to my research. This car brand is one of my favorites. Everything about BMW cars is so special, the top speed, acceleration, its grip, strength, and sporty appearance with its aggressive look. BMW don't have a public usage in Ghana, all of its cars are used privately making it to arrive on number seven (7) on the list.
8.Honda
Honda cars are from Japan, but are greatly made in North America upon my research. Honda cars are very nice cars which have both public and private use in Ghana. They have a very strong lifespan leading it to take impact on Ghanaians who are very economical. The three most popular Honda cars in Ghana are the Honda Civic, Honda Accord and the Honda CRV. These Honda cars are privately used in Ghana.
9.Mitsubishi
I also am a fan of Mitsubishi cars. They turn me on anytime I see them. Their most popular used cars are the L200 Mitsubishi pickup and the Pajero. Mitsubishi is most used in Ghana because of the consumer preferences. Ghanaian contractors love to use the L200 a lot for their day in and day out project works, because of its strength and off-road tires.
